Programme Introduction
EXPLORE THE ARTS AND CREATE YOUR OWN JOURNEY
Begin this four-year undergraduate degree with a year of exploration. Pursue topics that inspire students and choose from a wide variety of introductory Arts courses to discover new areas of interest. The programme’s flexible curriculum and enticing dual degree options give students the space to develop a study path that’s perfect for you.
The Faculty offers two four-year dual BA degree programmes in collaboration with two highly respected international universities, the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), and the University of California, Berkeley.

During the first year, students will select their own combination of disciplines from a broad spectrum of introductory arts and humanities courses. The programme’s flexible curriculum will allow students to combine an arts major with various other arts and non-arts courses, or to focus on the major(s) their plans to declare and study. The Faculty also offers two dual-degree programmes in collaboration with Sciences Po in France and the University of California, Berkeley in the United States. These programmes enable students to gain experience at HKU and another university abroad, earning two degrees in four years.

Through experiential learning, our Arts students have the opportunity to apply, test, and deepen their professional knowledge outside the classroom. They can participate in a wide range of global experiential learning opportunities, including student exchanges, field trips, internships, and short-term study abroad programmes. A number of Arts programmes integrate experiential learning into their credit-bearing courses, while others organize non-credit-bearing activities to enrich students’ practical experience.

Graduate from the programme equipped with advanced analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. The general degree provides an excellent foundation for pursuing a diverse range of rewarding careers in business, community service, government, media, advertising, or for continuing their studies at the postgraduate level. The Faculty also offers career preparation workshops to equip students with the necessary skill sets in the job market.
