Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly transforming many existing engineering industries and substantially advancing their productivity. The BEng X + MScEng AIE programme aims to nurture highly interdisciplinary Bachelor-degree engineers equipped with modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) Master-degree skills to overcome various future engineering challenges. Students can freely choose Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Data and System Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering as their BEng degree. They will then complete a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Engineering in a 4+1 years and receive a scholarship of HKD120,000 when enrolling in the AI in Engineering MSc degree programme.

Aiming to nurture highly interdisciplinary Bachelor-degree engineers equipped with modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) Master-degree skills, students in the BEng X + MScEng AIE programme will choose their major in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Data and Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering starting in Year 2. They will receive the same solid training in our existing BEng programmes and obtain the same BEng degrees. Starting in Year 4, they will learn fundamental and theoretical AI knowledge, together with discipline-specific engineering applications by AI techniques, to complete the degree requirements of both BEng and MSc in AI in Engineering degrees.

Students will build solid foundations in their chosen engineering discipline. The learning experience is enhanced by artificial intelligence technology through active learning, capstone experience, hands-on activities, internship, exchange studies, and service learning, which prepares them to pursue promising engineering careers in the future.

Following graduation with your BEng degree, you will be eligible to apply for the corresponding professional recognition with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

The BEng X + MScEng AIE graduates are expected to have great flexibility in their career choices and development. In addition to the existing opportunities in engineering sectors, students may also choose to serve in the business, research, education, social and community sectors. In the past, around 16% of the BEng graduates pursued further studies in Hong Kong or overseas.
