“Challenging, self-motivating, and fulfilling.” Botagoz (Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Year 2, Kazakhstan) used the three words to describe her HKU journey thus far. 

“I chose HKU among all schools because of the international recognition, worldwide opportunities, and promising career prospects. Adapting to life as an international student at HKU was challenging at first because of the cultural differences from my native country. The rigorous coursework and knowledge from renowned professors who are passionate about their fields of study motivated me to thrive for academic and personal excellence. Learning the backgrounds and perspectives of every member of the community fascinates me and broadens my horizons, allowing me to gain new insights into whether daily topics and profound philosophical questions. It is fulfilling to meet interesting people and form lifelong friendships at HKU.

With the knowledge and experiences I gained from the University, I hope to become a respected member of the STEM community and make meaningful contributions to society. I can confidently say that I have made the best decision, and I eagerly anticipate my exchange studies next year!”
